CATV/TELCO, Installation, Activation and Maintenance

The de-regulation of the Telecommunications Industry launched an enormous growth in the demand for entertainment and information services via high tech satellite and cable networks. Transcable has been a provider of installation, maintenance and customer installation services to leading operators since the early 90's providing a one-stop service and gaining a reputation for quality and service, with a vast experience not only of residential but also high rise buildings, business and leisure premises.

Networks

Cable TV networks are an area in which Transcable has considerable knowledge from the installation and calibration of head end equipment, through to the jointing of trunk cables, for installations to amplifiers including the commissioning, sweeping and recording of test results.

The problem solving of reverse path signals are also an area in which Transcable has much experience and expertise. These are tracked and repaired, cleaning up the RF network in progression

Satellite Master Antenna Systems (SMATV)

The growth in the availability of television services has produced a demand for services in areas and properties without cable TV i.e., MDUs, hotels, retirement homes etc. Working closely with cable operators, local authorities and landowners, Transcable has developed a reputation for designing and installing quality systems within budget restraints and deadlines.

British Telecom Networks

Transcable are currently working closely with B.T. developing their infrastructure to accommodate a growing customer base through their broad band and telephony network. This involves D & E side copper jointing of new build sites together with expanding the network via underground or overhead services.

Fibre Optic Networks

Newer and compact networks have created the changing of copper telephones to Fibre Optic replacements. Transcable have much experience in blown fibre installation followed by Fusion splicing, testing etc. utilising the latest equipment and documenting the final results

Overhead Networks

Although overhead CATV networks are becoming fewer, (the 1984 Telecoms Act dictates that all broadband networks are ducted underground) there are still hundreds of miles of plant serving thousands of customers. This plant still requires regular maintenance, replacement and upgrading or decommissioning and the removal when superseded by a modern cable system. Transcable have specialist capabilities in these areas and are currently installing British Telecom poles and associated equipment on major road schemes throughout Southern England.

Decommissioning and removal

Whenever a system has to be decommissioned and removed, Transcable works closely with the local authority and relevant agencies to ensure that the equipment is removed with minimum disturbance and the environment and properties are reinstated to their satisfaction. At the same paying close attention to the concerns of individual customers, keeping them fully informed of work which affects them whilst providing a fast, efficient response to their needs.

Health and Safety Training

Transcable ensures strict conformity with all Government legislation on Health and Safety including the Construction Design and Management Regulations as well as rules governing the environment. The workforce is fully trained and works to a documented system. Their aim is to protect the public, the workforce and the client.
